Sports Massage North Sydney

We offer sports massage in North Sydney out of our clinic. Our North Sydney therapists are trained in a variety of remedial techniques including sports massage. Sports massage is a sport specific technique designed to return you to your previous level of activity. This form of muscular pain treatment is based on an understanding of the pressures your body faces in the specific sport you engage in. Sports massage can often be a more rigorous and targeted toward specific areas and deep tissue.
If you have succumbed to injury or suffering from pain associated with your sport we recommended a discussion with one of our therapists regarding your treatment options.

Emma completed her Certificate of Therapeutic Massage and Diploma of Remedial Massage at Endeavour College of Natural Therapies. During her studies she had various opportunities to work with elite sporting teams; as a result Emma has developed an interest and passion in the area of sports massage and trigger point therapy. This has opened many doors for her to work with elite sporting teams and to learn other aspects of treatment such as strapping and injury prevention and management.

Emma has since completed her Level 1 Sports Trainer course and Introductory and Advanced Dry Needling courses. Having completed the dry needling courses she has found these skills to be vital in both athlete’s and patient’s rehabilitation from and prevention of injury, as well as improving range of motion and reducing pain.

Emma listens to her patients and has the ability to adapt her techniques to their needs. She is skilled in various massage modalities and majors in Deep Tissue, Sports Massage and Trigger Point Therapy, as well as Dry Needling. Emma also works closely with patients on breath control and correction, as this cannot only calm anxiety and stress, but also has links with posture.

In her spare time Emma loves to play music, head to a yoga class, watch sport, go for a swim or catch up with friends for some fun. She used to be a keen netball player until it got too violent, so now is thinking about trying something safer.

What to expect

On your first visit, you will be required to fill out our Initial Consultation Form. We will require some information about yourself and why you are visiting us i.e. sore back and shoulders etc. We will also ask for some other information which you may feel to be irrelevant, but this will allow our therapists to get a better understanding of your presenting condition.

After this step, you will be taken to our private and concealed massage room, where you will be asked to undress (or put on a gown if you feel more comfortable). To help you get into the relaxed state, our therapists will use warm scented towels on your feet. This will melt away all your stress, so we can then begin the massage.

During your massage, your therapist will ask for your feedback, so please feel free to let them know at this point if you would like them to change their technique. Once your session has finished and you would like to book in another session with your therapist, you can do so at the front desk. We do offer discounted Pre-pay packages, where you can pay for 5 massages and receive the 6th one free. Check our FAQ’s page for more details.
